About

Michael Pattinson

I have been practising hypnosis and hypnotherapy in a clinical setting for over 15 years.

I completed my clinical training at The Academy of Hypnotic Science, Victoria’s only government-registered hypnotherapy training body. I later completed advanced training under Rick Collingwood, earning an Advanced Diploma in Clinical Hypnosis.

I have also trained with Dr Gordon Emmerson, psychologist and founder of Ego State Therapy, an Honorary Fellow of Victoria University’s School of Psychology.

The Operator

This practice is run by an operator, not a personality.

No guru branding.
No influencer positioning.
No authority theatre.

The work stands on structure, not charisma.

Training

I was clinically trained in hypnosis through a formal, government-registered training body in Victoria.

My training included:

  • clinical hypnosis

  • behavioral intervention

  • structured suggestion work

  • applied change protocols

I do not rely on informal certifications or weekend courses to establish credibility.

Training matters.
So does how it is used.

Experience

I have worked in clinical and private practice for over 15 years.

Across that time I have seen a clear pattern:

People do not fail because they lack insight.
They fail because they avoid responsibility.

That observation is the foundation of Agency Structure Hypnosis.

Philosophy

Change is lawful.

People change when:

  • incentives shift

  • costs increase

  • avoidance is confronted

  • behavior is rehearsed

Narratives do not produce outcomes.
Structure does.

This practice is built around agency, responsibility, and execution.

Why I Left Professional Associations

I no longer belong to hypnosis or therapy associations.

The reason is simple:

Most associations reward:

  • ideological conformity

  • narrative-based models

  • client dependency

  • risk-avoidance over results

I operate independently to preserve:

  • methodological clarity

  • professional boundaries

  • outcome-focused work

This is not rebellion.
It is an operational discipline.

Why I Reject Free Consultations

Free consultations distort incentives.

They:

  • encourage window-shopping

  • reward indecision

  • frame the operator as a persuader

  • attract clients who outsource responsibility

This practice does not convince.
It filters.

If you book, you have already decided to act.

What This Means for You

You are not treated as:

  • a diagnosis

  • a victim

  • a passive recipient

You are treated as the responsible party.

If that is acceptable, the work proceeds.
If not, it should not begin.

Next Step

  • Review the services

  • Read the policies

  • Book deliberately

No pressure.
No persuasion.
No follow-up calls.
